Prayer may carry different purposes and meaning. But in the very least, it helps us to focus our attention on a given point of reference. Our attention is an expression of our energy. When we focus our energy on that which we value, we encourage its growth and expression within us, and also without us. In other words, our prayer has the potential to change the world we inhabit.
